Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Service Medals
(Drittes Reich Abzeichen). A pair of Third Reich period service medals, including a Wehrmacht Eastern Front Medal, constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse with an inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”) above a crossed sword and laurel branch, topped by a Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) and stick grenade, unmarked, measuring 35.71 mm (w) x 44.18 mm (h), in better than very fine condition, and; a RLB Air Defence Medal, II Class, constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 37.99 mm in diameter, in very fine condition.
