Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Third Reich Period Merit Medals

(Drittes Reich Leistungsabzeichen). A pair of Third Reich period merit medals, including an Honour Cross of the German Mother, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, sun rays emanating between the arms of a Latin Cross from the centre applique, central medallion depicting a black enameled swastika ringed by a raised inscription of “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER” (“The German Mother”), on loop with period original ribbon, reverse inscribed with institution date of “16 Dezember 1938” and facsimile of the Führer and Reichskanzler, unmarked, measuring 35 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition, and; a Second Class Civil Service Faithful Service Medal, constructed of silvered bronze with black enamel, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, presenting as a Cross Pattée joined at the arms with an oak leaf wreath, obverse with central black swastika, reverse with central inscription of “Für treue Dienste” (“For Faithful Service”), unmarked, measuring 41 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
