Germany, Wehrmacht. A Pair of Wehrmacht Decorations
(Wehrmacht Abzeichen). A group of three Wehrmacht decorations, including a 1939 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, unmarked, measuring 43.95 mm (w) x 44.62 mm (h), accompanied by a suspension ring which has broken off and a length of period original ribbon, in poor condition; a Krim Shield, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a map of Crimea, topped by a Wehrmacht-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates “1941-1942”, unmarked, measuring 57 mm (w) x 64 mm (h), missing its backer, otherwise in very fine condition, and; an Eastern Front Medal, constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse with an inscription of "WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42" ("WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42"), topped by a Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) and stick grenade, unmarked, measuring 35.85 mm (w) x 44.32 mm (h), weighing 19.7 grams, some reverse deterioration evident, otherwise in very fine condition.
