(Dienstabzeichen). A grouping of two Second War period service medals, including a 1914 Iron Cross Second Class, constructed of a silvered and ribbed cross pattée with blackened magnetic iron core, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse presents with a central mobile swastika and reinstitution date of “1939” on the lower arm, the reverse presents plain with the exception of institution date of “1813” in raised numbers, unmarked, measuring 47.5 mm (h) x 43 mm (w), in overall fair condition, and; a Romanian Crusade Against Communism 1941 Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, obverse bears a clenched fist holding a sword over top of a cross circumscribed “CRUCIADA ÎMPOTRIVA COMUNISMULUI” (“Crusade Against Communism”) with a date of “1941”, the obverse features a central leftward-facing woman symbolizing Romanian liberty circumscribed “ROMÂNIA RECUNOSCĂTOARE” (“Romania is Grateful”), engraver marked “P. Grant” on reverse, measuring 32 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.
