Germany, Wehrmacht. A Lot of Medals
(Wehrmacht Medaillen). A mixed lot of three medals, including a War Merit Cross, II Class with Swords, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed date of “1939”, unmarked, measuring 48.86 mm (w) x 49.39 mm (h), weighing 24.4 grams, in extremely fine condition; an Eastern Front Medal, constructed of silvered and patinated zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”), above a crossed sword and laurel branch, topped by a Stahlhelm and stick grenade, maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “18” for Karl Wurster, Markneukirchen, measuring 35.42 mm (w) x 44.02 mm (h), weighing 17.0 grams, with oxidation and loss of finish evident throughout, in overall fair condition, and; a Blue Division Medal, constructed of gilded zink, on loop for suspension, the obverse bearing a sword overlaid by shield with raised Wehrmacht and Falange insignia, above a swastika and topped by a Stahlhelm, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “DIVISIÓN ESPAÑOLA VOLUNTARIOS EN RUSIA” (“DIVISION OF SPANISH VOLUNTEERS IN RUSSIA”), unmarked, measuring 32.42 mm in diameter, weighing 11.4 grams, with oxidation and loss of finish evident throughout, in overall fair condition.
