What's a max bid?

1. A Reich Labour Service (RAD) Long Service Medal, IV Class, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a raised RAD insignia, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IM REICHSARBEITSDIENST” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE REICH LABOUR SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 32.90 mm (w) x 44.74 mm (h), weighing 10.5 grams, in extremely fine condition.

2. A 1939 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, unmarked, measuring 43.90 mm (w) x 47.55 mm (h), weighing 17.5 grams, with oxidation of the core evident, in overall very fine condition.

3. A West Wall Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a raised pillbox topped by a crossed sword and shovel and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR ARBEIT ZUM SCHUTZE DEUTSCHLANDS” (“FOR WORK IN THE PROTECTION OF GERMANY”), unmarked, measuring 32.78 mm (w) x 45.53 mm (h), weighing 19.5 grams, in extremely fine condition.

4. An Eastern Front Medal, constructed of silvered and patinated zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”), topped by a Stahlhelm and stick grenade, unmarked, measuring 36.16 mm (w) x 44.60 mm (h), weighing 19.5 grams, in extremely fine condition.

5. A General Assault Badge, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, around a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round write catch, maker marked with the logo of Rudolf Souval, Vienna, measuring 42.23 mm (w) x 52.79 mm (h), weighing 33.0 grams, with oxidation and loss of finish evident throughout, in overall very fine condition.

6. A Wound Badge, Black Grade, constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, with a central Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 37.38 mm (w) x 45.00 mm (h), with oxidation and loss of finish evident throughout, in overall fair condition.

7. A 1939 Iron Cross I Class, constructed of iron and silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse with a block hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, the three o’clock arm has been bent and there is evident of repainting of the core, in overall very fine condition.

8. A Sniper Badge, III Class, constructed of field-grey wool, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered black eagle’s head with feathring highlighted in white threading, within machine-embroidered green oak leaves, unmarked, measuring 62 mm (w) x 77 mm (h), a rare example in extremely fine condition.

The awards are pinned to a shadow box-style presentation case, constructed of lacquered dark brown wood, retaining a glass face, unmarked, measuring 348 mm (w) x 275 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
