Germany, Wehrmacht. A Lot of Service Medals
(Wehrmacht Medaillen). A lot of three Wehrmacht service medals, including a West Wall Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a raised pillbox, topped by a crossed sword and shovel and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR ARBEIT ZUM SCHUTZE DEUTSCHLANDS” (“FOR WORK IN THE DEFENCE OF GERMANY”), unmarked, measuring 33.02 mm (w) x 45.60 mm (h), weighing 17.1 grams, in near extremely fine condition; a Sudetenland Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a raised Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.12 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition, and; a Romanian Crusade Against Communism Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised cross overlaid by a hand clutching a sword and a date of “1941”, circumscribed by an inscription of “CRUCIADA ÎMPOTRIVA COMUNISMULUI” (“CRUSADE AGAINST COMMUNISM”), the reverse bearing a raised leftward-facing figures, circumscribed by an inscription of “ROMÂNIA RECUNOSCĂTOARE” (“ROMANIA IS GRATEFUL”), designer maked “P. GRANT”, measuring 31.60 mm in diameter, weighing 15.3 grams, with moderate oxidation evident, in overall very fine condition.
