Germany, Wehrmacht. A Lot of Service Medals
(Wehrmacht Medaillen). A lot of four service medals, including a Sudetenland Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a raised Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central date of “1. OKTOBER 1939”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER”, unmarked, measuring 32.06 mm in diameter, weighing 12.6 grams, in near mint condition; a West Wall Medal, constructed of bronze zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a raised pillbox topped by a crossed sword and shovel and Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR ARBEIT ZUM SCHUTZ DEUTSCHLANDS” (“FOR WORK IN THE PROTECTION OF GERMANY”), unmarked, measuring 33.18 mm (w) x 45.50 mm (h), weighing 14.2 grams, most of the bronze finish has been lost and some oxidation is evident, in overall very fine condition; an Eastern Front Medal, constructed of silvered and patinated zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”), above a crossed sword and laurel branch, topped by a Stahlhelm and stick grenade, the suspension loop maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “3” for Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid, measuring 35.96 mm (w) x 44.23 mm (h), weighing 21.2 grams, most of the silver finish has been lost and some oxidation is evident, in overall very fine condition; also including a Civil Service 25-Year Faithful Service Cross, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms and an oak leaf wreath through the quadrants, the obverse bearing a central black swastika, the reverse bearing a central inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 40.94 mm (w) x 46.34 mm (h), weighing 19.3 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
