Germany, Wehrmacht. A Lot of Wehrmacht Medals, Post-1957 Reissue
(Wehrmacht Abzeichen). A group of four Wehrmacht post-1957 reissue medals, including an Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and nickel alloy, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed nickel alloy frame, the obverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, unmarked, measuring 44.49 mm (w) x 48.13 mm (h), weighing 19.8 grams, in extremely fine condition; a War Merit Cross, II Class with Swords, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central date of “1939” inside of an oak leaf wreath, the reverse plain, with crossed swords piercing the centre of the cross, unmarked, measuring 48.23 mm (w) x 48.88 mm (h), weighing 18.5 grams, in near mint condition; an Eastern Front Medal, constructed of silvered and patinated bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a central Heer- (Army) style German national eagle clutching a laurel branch, the reverse with an inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”) above a crossed sword and laurel branch, topped by a Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet) and stick grenade, unmarked, measuring 36.41 mm (w) x 44.87 mm (h), weighing 32.4 grams, in near extremely fine condition, and; a Wehrmacht 4-Year Long Service Medal, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a Wehrmacht-style German national eagle circumscribed by inscription “Treue Dienste in der Wehrmacht” (“Faithful Service in the Wehrmacht”), the reverse with number “4” inside an oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 30.13 mm in diameter, weighing 15.3 grams, in extremely fine condition.
