Germany, Wehrmacht. A Mixed Lot of Decorations

(Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of four decorations, including:

1. A Luftwaffe Flak Badge, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central Flak 88 with its barrel raised and extending beyond the edge of the wreath, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 45.71 mm (w) x 67.08 mm (h), weighing 29.1 grams, the hinge has broken off and the pinback crudely soldered in place, while the badge also demonstrates the loss of most of the silver finish, in overall fair condition.

2. A Silver Grade Wound Badge, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, unmarked, measuring 36.70 mm (w) x 44.27 mm (h), weighing 24.2 grams, demonstrating total loss of silver finish and minor surface oxidation, in very fine condition.

3. A Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 100 commemorative medal, constructed of bronze, with an integral suspension loop formerly accommodating a leather strap, the obverse bearing a central raised edelweiss, circumscribed by an inscription of “GEB. JÄG. RGT. 100”, the reverse bearing raised inscriptions featuring seven key theatres of combat in which Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 100 saw action, unmarked, measuring 46 mm (w) x 48 mm (h) when oriented in intended diamond placement, in very fine condition.

4. A 1936 Berlin Olympics Commemorative Medallion in Silver, constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse bearing a raised female figure clutching an olive branch and laurel crown, circumscribed by an inscription of “ZUR EHRE DES VATERLANDES ZUM RUHME DES SPORTS” (“TO THE HONOUR OF THE FATHERLAND, TO THE GLORY OF SPORTS”), the reverse bearing a central raised bell overlaid by a German national eagle clutching Olympic rings, the rim of the bell bearing an inscription of “ICH RUFE DIE JUGEND DER WELT” (“I CALL THE YOUTH OF THE WORLD”), circumscribed by an inscription of “OLYMPISCHE SPIELE BERLIN MCMXXXVI” (“OLYMPIC GAMES BERLIN 1936”), unmarked, measuring 36 mm in diameter, demonstrating minor surface oxidation, in near extremely fine condition.
