Germany, Wehrmacht. A Mixed Lot of Medals
(Medaillen). A mixed lot of four medals, including an Italian-German African Campaign Medal, constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures dragging a crocodile, the reverse bearing a raised Arco dei Fileni flanked by a fasces and swastika, flanked by a double inscription of “ITALIAN-GERMAN CAMPAIGN IN AFRICA” in both Italian and German, the obverse maker marked “LORIOLI, MILANO”, measuring 30.76 mm in diameter, weighing 12.2 grams, with loss of finish throughout, in very fine condition; a Wehrmacht Long Service Decoration, II Class for 18 Years, constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed arms, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised number “18”, unmarked, measuring 36.45 mm (w) x 41.80 mm (h), weighing 14.7 grams, in very fine condition; a Spanish-made Blue Division Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with clasp and horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a sword overlaid by shields bearing Heer and Falange insignia, topped by a Stahlhelm, and above a swastika flanked by laurel leaves, the reverse bearing an inscription of “DIVISIÓN ESPAÑOLA VOLUNTARIOS EN RUSIA” (“DIVISION OF SPANISH VOLUNTEERS IN RUSSIA”), above laurel and oak leaf branches joined by an Iron Cross, unmarked, measuring 32.84 mm in diameter, weighing 18.3 grams (inclusive of ribbon), a postwar example manufactured for a Blue Division veteran in very fine condition, and; a Social Welfare Decoration, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Geneva Cross overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing an inscription of “MEDAILLE FÜR DEUTSCHE VOLKSPFLEGE” (“MEDAL FOR THE CARE OF THE GERMAN PEOPLE”), unmarked, measuring 38.00 mm in diameter, weighing 24.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
