Germany, Wehrmacht. A Pair of Awards
(Wehrmacht Abzeichen). A pair of Wehrmacht awards, including a War Merit Cross, II Class with Swords, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a central wreathed date of “1939”, the suspension ring maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “61” for Rudolf Karneth & Söhne, Gablonz, measuring 47.90 mm (w) x 47.94 mm (h), weighing 20.4 grams, in near extremely fine condition, and; an Infantry Assault Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of a bronzed metal alloy, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k with the bayonet attached to the front of the barrel and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, unmarked, measuring 47.50 mm (w) x 63.32 mm (h), weighing 15.4, the badge is missing all reverse hardware, in overall fair condition.
