Germany, Wehrmacht. A Pair of Decorations
(Abzeichen). A pair of decorations, including a Silver Grade Wound Badge, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crosses swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 36.08 mm (w) x 43.84 mm (h), weighing 26.7 grams, the catch has been repaired and most of the silver finish has been lost, in overall very fine condition, and; a German Equestrian Badge, III Class in Bronze, constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a stylized belt and buckle around a raised letter “R”, with a central mounted horse on a hollow background, the reverse with a barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “L. CHR. LAUER, NÜRNBERG”, measuring 41.96 mm (w) x 51.85 mm (h), weighing 13.8 grams, with some loss of finish evident, in overall better than very fine condition.
