Germany, Wehrmacht. A Pair of Decorations
(Wehrmacht Abzeichen). A pair of decorations, including an Italian-German African Campaign Medal, constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two gladiators (symbolizing Germany and Italy) grappling with a crocodile (symbolizing the United Kingdom), the reverse bearing a raised depiction of the Arco dei Fileni flanked by a fasces and swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “ITALO-GERMAN CAMPAIGN IN AFRICA” in both German and Italian, unmarked, measuring 30.86 mm in diameter, weighing 12.2 grams, with total loss of bronze finish and minor oxidation evident, in fair condition, and; a Heer Marksmanship Lanyard insignia, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central shield overlaid by crossed swords, the reverse with all four attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 39.14 mm (w) x 55.20 mm (h), weighing 9.6 grams, with total loss of silver finish, in very fine condition.
