A War Merit Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Maltese Cross with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR KRIEGS-VERDIENST 1939” (“FOR WAR MERIT 1939”), unmarked, measuring 32.20 mm in diameter, weighing 12.7 grams, in near mint condition.
2. An Italian-German African Campaign Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its original Italian-issued ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised depiction of two gladiators (symbolizing Italy and Germany) grappling with a crocodile (symbolizing Great Britain), the reverse bearing a central depiction of the Arco dei Fileni, flanked by a fasces and swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “ITALIAN-GERMAN CAMPAIGN IN AFRICA” in both Italian and German, the obverse engraver marked “DE MARCHIS” and maker marked “LORIOLI, MILANO”, measuring 30.84 mm in diameter, weighing 14.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
