Germany, Wehrmacht. A Pair of Service Badges
(Dienstabzeichen). A pair of service badges, including a Minesweeper War Badge, constructed of gilded and patinated zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, around a central stylized depiction of a sea mine exploding, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 43.20 mm (w) x 53.97 mm (h), weighing 20.3 grams, with total loss of finish evident, in fair condition, and; a Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened bronze, consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, unmarked, measuring 36.55 mm (w) x 44.26 mm (h), weighing 12.8 grams, with possible evidence of re-painting, in extremely fine condition.
