Germany, Wehrmacht. A Pair of Service Badges
(Dienstabzeichen). A pair of service badges, including an Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, diagonally across the wreath is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 47.19 mm (w) x 62.30 mm (h), weighing 30.7 grams, with most of the silver finish lost, in overall very fine condition, and; a SA Sports Badge, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a central sword on top of a mobile swastika, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a flattened round catch, maker marked “BERG & NOLTE, LÜDENSCHEID”, measuring 45.52 mm (w) x 58.16 mm (h), weighing 17.5 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
