A grouping of two medals and awards, consisting of 1) A War Merit Cross Second Class with Swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern); a Maltese cross in bronzed; on loop for suspension (unmarked) from a correct replacement ribbon; the obverse with crossed swords between the arms of the cross and a circular raised border of oak leaves on the obverse with a raised mobile swastika in the center; the reverse with a circular raised border of oak leaves bearing the institution date “1939” in raised numbering; measuring 47.97 mm (w) x 47.80 mm (h); weighing 25.5 grams. 2) A 1941 Romanian Eastern Front “Crusade Against Communism” Medal (Romanian Cruciada Impotriva Comunismului); circular gilded bronze medal; on loop for suspension, with a correct replacement ribbon; the obverse with a hand holding a sword vertically with sun rays to the left and right of the hilt, and circumscribed “1941” as well as “Cruciada Importava Comunismului” (Crusade against Communism); the reverse with a portrait of a female facing towards the left and circumscribed “Romania Recunoscatoare” (Romania Recognisant); measuring 31.86 mm in diameter; weighing 15.9 grams; light contact marks but overall better than very fine condition.
