Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Badges and Insignia
(Abzeichen und Insignien). A mixed lot of three badges and insignia, including a SA Sports Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a central sword on top of a mobile swastika, the reverse with a vertical pinback meeting a flattened catch, maker marked “W. REDO, SAARLAUTERN”, measuring 46.42 mm (w) x 58.37 mm (h), with loss of finish and minor oxidation evident, in very fine condition; a DRL Sports Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a bow tie ribbon, around stylized initials “DRL” on a hollow background, the reverse with a barrel hinge and flattened vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, the reverse maker marked “EUGEN MARCUS, HOFJUWELIER, BERLIN”, measuring 39.32 mm (w) x 48.87 mm (h), weighing 17.3 grams, in near extremely fine condition, and; a Heer Gebirgsjäger EM/NCO sleeve insignia, constructed of field-grey wool, the obverse bearing a multi-coloured machine-embroidered edelweiss within a knotted border topped by a piton, unmarked, measuring 56 mm (w) x 68 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
