Germany, NSDAP. A 1943 10-Year Long Service Award Document to Gerhard Wetzel
(NSDAP Dienstauszeichnung Papier). Constructed of off-white paper stock, with obverse inscriptions in brown and red ink, reading “BESITZURKUNDE DEM PARTEIGENOSSEN GERHARD WETZEL VERLEIHE ICH HIERMIT DIE DIENSTAUSZEICHNUNG DER NSDAP IN BRONZE FÜR 10 JÄHRIGE AKTIVE DIENSTZEIT IN DER NSDAP” (“TO PARTY COMRADE GERHARD WETZEL, I HEREBY GRANT THE SERVICE AWARD OF THE NSDAP IN BRONZE FOR 10 YEARS OF ACTIVE SERVICE IN THE NSDAP”), the bottom left indicates that the award was bestowed in Munich on 20 April 1943, the bottom right bears the facsimile of the Führer, the bottom inscribed “NATIONALSOZIALISTISCHE DEUTSCHE ARBEITERPARTEI” (“NATIONAL SOCIALIST GERMAN WORKERS PARTY”), within a border composed of six bands overlaid with oak leaves and swastikas, topped by an embossed NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, with seal of the Führer embossed at the bottom, set inside wood grained frame, measuring 340 mm (w) x 448 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
