A very well-preserved and owner-attributed Golden Party Badge, constructed of gilded tombak with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, with a central black mobile swastika on a white enameled disc, within a red enameled ring bearing an inscription of “NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE D.A.P.”, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, stamped with a NSDAP member number of “52224” for Hermann Klien, measuring 30.30 mm in diameter, weighing 12.7 grams, two small chips are visible to the obverse enamels, in overall better than very fine condition.
Footnote: NSDAP member 52224 has been identified as Hermann Klien, a tinsmith who joined the party on 1 November 1926. He was born on 1 October 1905 in Hohenems, then in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the time of issue, Klien was associated with residences in Linz and Langenargen, Baden-Württemberg.
