Germany, NSDAP. A Golden Party Badge, Small Version Modified to Stick Pin, with Award Document to Erich Hartmann
(Goldenes Parteiabzeichen, Anstecknadel mit Verleihungsurkunde). Constructed of gilded tombak with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, bearing a central white enameled disc overlaid by a black mobile swastika, set within a circular red enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “NATIONAL-SOZIALISTISCHE D.A.P.” (“NATIONAL SOCIALIST GERMAN WORKERS’ PARTY”), in turned surrounded by a narrow white enameled ring, the reverse stamped with an issue number of “16151” for Erich Hartmann, with its original pinback removed and replace with a stick pin which retains a sliding lock, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by Josef Fuess, Munich, measuring 23.78 mm in diameter, in addition to the replaced pin the enamels demonstrate minor flecking and chipping, an interesting example in very fine condition; accompanied by its award document, named ot “HERRN ERICH HARTMANN”, a resident of the town of Herford in Westphalia, certified by the handwritten signature of Treasurer Franz Xaver Schwarz, measuring 96 mm (w) x 130 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
