Germany, NSDAP. A Long Service Award, II Class for 15 Years with Case, by Karl Wurster
(Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP II. Klasse für 15 Jahre mit Etui). Instituted 2 April 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed arms finished in blue enamels and joined through the quadrants by stylized rays, the obverse bearing a central circular oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika over a blue enameled disc, the reverse bearing a central circular oak leaf wreath surrounding a raised inscription of “TREUE FÜR FÜHRER UND VOLK” (“LOYALTY FOR FÜHRER AND PEOPLE”) on a blue enameled disc, unmarked, measuring 42.39 mm (w) x 47.10 mm (h), weighing 39.6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a two-piece card stock frame with a faux dark blue leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a slotted medal bed, the base stamped with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M1/34” for Karl Wurster, Markneukirchen, measuring 56 mm (w) x 98 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), a superb and matching set in near mint condition.
