Germany, NSDAP. A Long Service Decoration, Bronze Grade for 10 Years with Case, by Karl Wurster
(Dienstauszeichnung der NSDAP in Bronze für 10 Jahre, mit Etui). Instituted 2 April 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of a bronzed alloy, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with its arms joined together through the quadrants by stylized sun rays, the obverse bearing a central circular wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of “TREUE FÜR FÜHRER UND VOLK” (“LOYALTY FOR FÜHRER AND PEOPLE”), unmarked, measuring 42.90 mm (w) x 46.60 mm (h), weighing 36.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of two pieces of brown card stock, the lid bearing a gilt NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the bottom stamped with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) code and maker’s code of “M1/34” for Karl Wurster, Markneukirchen, measuring 52 mm (w) x 94 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), the case demonstrating moderate material fatigue, in near extremely fine condition.
