Germany, Third Reich. A 1942 General Government Table Medal, with Case, by the Official Vienna Mint
(Meister des Generalgouvernment Tischmedaille). Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse with a raised Grecian figure clutching an oak leaf branch, the reverse with a central NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, above a date of “1942”, circumscribed by an inscription of “MEISTER DES GENERALGOUVERNMENT” (“CHAMPION OF THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT”), unmarked, measuring 60.30 mm in diameter, weighing 74.2 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a wood frame with a faux purple leather exterior, the interior with a white satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a depressed white felt medal bed, opening with dual functional magnetic metal hinges, the exterior maker marked “HAUPTMÜNZAMT WIEN” for the Vienna Mint, measuring 88 mm (w) x 88 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
