Constructed of blackened bronze, the obverse with a symbolic depiction of the Schlageter Memorial, flanked by a NSAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika and an inscription of “DER ALTEN GARDE” (“THE OLD GUARD”), above an inscription of “FÜR TREUEN KAMPFDIENST ZU EHREN AH, NSDAP GAU DÜSSELDORF” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE TO THE STRUGGLE FOR HONOUR OF AH, NSDAP DISTRICT DÜSSELDORF”), the reverse with an issue number of “265”, otherwise unmarked, measuring 99 mm (w) x 136 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: This plaque was awarded to NSDAP members in the Düsseldorf district who also held the Golden Party Badge, intending to honour those who participated in the Kampfzeit (time of struggle). A rare award with only 500 bestowed, each plaque stamped with a recipient’s number.
