Footnote: Julius Becker was born on November 13, 1881 in Graz, Austria. According to his own testimony he was the first chairman of a national party in 1918, the d.G.P (?). He joined the Austrian chapter of the NSDAP on June 4, 1928, membership no. 83863. Becker says that he founded the NSDAP Ortsgruppe (local group) Andritz (a district of Graz). He was not punished or incarcerated during the time the NSDAP was forbidden in Austria (1934-1938), but claims he was an outspoken supporter of the movement, which everybody that knows him will confirm. During this time he claims he still tried to win new members for the party. He also gave out propaganda material. Becker requested the Golden Party Badge on December 23, 1939, at the time a retired Reich Railroad Oberrevident (civil servant). He was awarded the badge on April 26, 1940.
