Germany, Luftwaffe. A Tutima Chronograph Watch
(Luftwaffe Chronograf Uhr). This is a very well-preserved Luftwaffe Tutima chronograph, constructed of a nickel-plated steel case with a ribbed border surrounding the circumference of the glass face. The dial face itself is black and bears large, luminous Arabic numerals with minute and second indicators, as well as additional numerals marking five-minute intervals. Hour and minute hands, coated with luminous radium, are joined by a luminous second hand. The faceplate features two additional dials with sixty and thirty second timers. A retractable wind-up button is flanked by additional buttons controlling the mechanism for the stopwatch features, one of which automatically resets the dials to their starting positions. The face is marked “GLASHÜTTE” for the town in Saxony where the German watch industry has historically been focused, topped with the logo of Glashütte-based watchmaking firm “Tutima”. The reverse of the case bears a serial number of “202811”. The watch bears brown leather replacement straps marked on the reverse “ECHT LEDER” (“GENUINE LEATHER”). The faceplate measures 32 mm in diameter. The watch is working condition, presently functional, all the parts are genuine, except the strap.
