A textbook nonmagnetic private purchase Naval Iron Cross 1939 First Class by Wächtler & Lange; in silver with a blackened brass (non-magnetic) core; vertical slender banjo style vertical pinback with a barrel hinge and a flat wire catch; unmarked, but exhibiting the trademarks of “Wächter & Lange, Mittweida” manufacture; flat; measuring 43.73 mm x 43.71 mm; weighing 19.5 grams; better than very fine condition with some light paint wear on the swastika.
