A fine Iron Cross 1939 First Class by a desirable maker; with a silver frame and a blackened iron core (magnetic); vertical pinback (marked “65” for Klein & Quenzer of Idar Oberstein) with a functional hinge/catch assembly; measuring 44.13 mm x 44.18 mm; weighing 20.3 grams; patina on the frame and with the black paint on the swastika (Hakenkreuz) worn off. Accompanied by its original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper with a textured black faux leather (leatherette); the lid lined in an off-white silk with a recessed medal bed; functional push-button; intact interior fabric hinge cover and a functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 69 mm x 70 mm; overall near extremely fine condition.
