Klasse”; a cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed frame; the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date “1939” in raised numbering on the lower arm; the reverse plain, with a vertical banjo style pinback, with a barrel hinge, and a round wire catch - the pin marked “7” (incomplete strike) for “Paul Meybauer, Berlin” on the reverse; measuring 44.15 mm x 44.11 mm; weighing 17.1 grams; with its case of issue, constructed of pressed cardstock, with a textured black faux leather (leatherette) exterior; embossed with an outline of an Iron Cross on the exterior of the lid in silver; lined interior lid marked “Paul Meybauer, Berlin” with a slotted medal bed; intact interior fabric hinge cover; functional spring catch with stud release; functional exterior metal hinge: measuring 69 mm x 70 mm; overall better than very fine condition.
