A well preserved Iron Cross 1939 First Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1939 1. Klasse); silver frame with a blackened magnetic iron core; vertical pinback (marked “20” on the reverse of the pin - Fritz Zimmermann, Stuttgart); in its original case of issue; constructed of heavy cardstock with a black faux leatherette exterior; interior of the lid embossed in gold lettering“LDO” (Leistungs Gemeinschaft der Deutschen Ordenhersteller/Administration of German Order Manufacturers) and stamped “L/52” (Fritz Zimmermann, Stuttgart) in blue ink; functional push button; intact interior fabric hinge with a functional external metal hinge; measuring 68 mm x 68 mm; overall extremely fine condition.
