An Iron Cross 1939 First Class; silver frame with a blackened iron core (magnetic); vertical slender banjo style pinback with a barrel hinge and a round wire catch; measuring 44.20 mm x 44.21 mm; weighing 21.1 grams. In its original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper, with a textured back exterior and a silver outline of the Iron Cross 1939 First Class on the outside lid; lined interior lid with a recessed medal bed; functional spring catch with stud release; intact interior fabric hinge cover; functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 68 mm x 68 mm; light cracking of the paint on the tips of the swastika (Hakenkreuz) but otherwise better than very fine condition.
