A fine quality manufacture Iron Cross 1939 Second Class by an uncommon maker; silver frame with a blackened iron core (magnetic); on loop for suspension (marked “52” for Gottlieb Wagner, Idar Oberstein); with a mint period-original ribbon; measuring 44.10 mm x 44.00 mm; weighing 18.8 grams; with appealing dark patina, but also with a scattered light chips in the paint, and a small area of corrosion on the reverse; overall near very fine condition.
