A This is an Iron Cross 1939 that depicts very attractive dark, old, and even patina throughout; white metal cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a white metal ribbed border; on loop for suspension; with its period original full-length ribbon; the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date “1939” in raised numbering on the lower arm; the reverse with the original institution date “1813” in raised numbering on the lower arm; measuring 45.13 mm x 44.80 mm; weighing 18.9 grams; accompanied by its original packet of issue; the obverse with “Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse 1939” printed in black gothic lettering, and the reverse with”Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid” maker marked in black gothic lettering; measuring 130 mm x 105 mm; overall better than very fine condition.
