What's a max bid?

An early example, 31.1 x 45.0mm, 11.2 grams, in tombac, is an extremely early issue of the award but an unknown maker ( possibly Juncker). This very example is pictured on the front cover of the Book "The Iron Cross 1. Class by Maerz/Stimson and is also detailed on pages 452/453 and 456/6. Despite the cleaning which has happened in the time between the printing of the book in 2010 and the date of the provided expertise, there is no doubt this is the same original Spange pictured in the book. This spange comes with a Maerz Certificate outlining its use in the book and its authenticity.
