A mint example of an Iron Cross 1939 First Class “Eisernes Kreuz 1939 1. Klasse” in its presentation case of issue; a cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border; the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date “1939” in raised numbering on the lower arm; the reverse plain, with a slender banjo style vertical pinback - marked “L/11” for “Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid” on the reverse, a barrel hinge, and a round wire catch; measuring 43.82 mm (w) x 43.84mm (h); weighing 16.4 grams. Accompanied by its presentation case; constructed of heavy pressed paper, with a black faux leather (leatherette) exterior; with an Iron Cross embossed in silver on the outside of the lid; lined interior lid with a slotted medal bed; functional spring catch with stud release, intact interior fabric hinge, and an functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (h); in near mint condition.
