Germany, Wehrmacht. A 1939 Clasp to the Iron Cross II Class, Prinzen Size, II Pattern
(Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz 1939 II. Klasse). Instituted 1 September 1939. (1939-1945 issue). Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, set on top of a trapezoid bearing a raised date of “1939” on a pebbled background, the reverse retaining both attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 24.54 mm (w) x 24.52 mm (h), weighing 4.0 grams, in extremely fine condition.
