(Eisernes Kreuz 1939 I. Klasse). A Cross Pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver border, the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date 1939 in raised numbering on the lower arm, the reverse plain with a barrel hinge and vertical banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44.24 mm (w) x 44.38 mm (h), weighing 20.4 grams, accompanied by its period original case, constructed of cardstock with a faux black leather exterior, outline of Iron Cross embossed in silver on lid, white satin-type lid liner, intact hinge cover, slotted white felt medal bed, functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, and in extremely fine condition.
