A cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core within a ribbed silver border, the obverse with a raised central mobile swastika with the re-institution date 1939 in raised numbering on the lower arm, the reverse plain with a screw plate, marked L59 underneath for Alois Rettenmaier, measuring 44.05 mm (w) x 44.14 mm (h), weighing 17.5 grams, accompanied by its period original case constructed of cardstock with a faux black leather exterior, with a white satin lining, with partially intact hinge cover, a slotted white-felt medal bed, with functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release, with functional magnetic metal hinge, measuring 67 mm (w) x 66 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), and in very fine condition.
