Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, with a central raised rosette within a circular laurel wreath, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, the pinback maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “100” for Wächtler & Lange, Mittweida, measuring 49.48 mm (w) x 49.28 mm (h), weighing 19.5 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted black felt medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (l) x 26 mm (h), the badge has lost most of its gilt finish and moderate material fatigue is evident to the case, in overall very fine condition.
