(Medaille zur Erinnerung an die Heimkehr des Memellandes mit Etui). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with an inscription of “ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DIE HEIMKEHR DES MEMELLANDES 22. MÄRZ 1939” (“IN COMMEMORATION OF THE HOMECOMING OF MEMEL 22 MARCH 1939”), within an oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 32.20 mm in diameter, weighing 14.1 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux red leather exterior, the lid with a gold embossed NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a padded white satin lid liner and a slotted red velvet medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 48 mm (w) x 102 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
