Germany, Wehrmacht. A Close Combat Clasp, Silver Grade, by the Unknown 6-Dot Maker
A second war German “Nahkampfspange”; in silvered vaulted zink; the obverse with a national eagle and a bayonet and hand grenade in the centerpiece, with sun rays emanating from the centre of the left and right sides, and with four oak leaves and two acorns on each side; the reverse plain, with a square magnetic backing plate; horizontal fluted (magnetic) pinback with a barrel hinge and a flat wire catch on the reverse; measuring 96.73 mm x 25.75 mm; weighing 32.4 grams; of note are the 6 dotted stampings on the reverse, used by this maker to hold the magnetic backplate in place; in better than fine condition.
