Germany. A Bronze Grade Close Combat Clasp, by C. E. Juncker of Berlin
A second war German “Nahkampfspange”; in bronzed zink; the obverse with a national eagle and a bayonet and hand grenade in the centerpiece, with sun rays emanating from the centre of the left and right sides, and with four oak leaves and two acorns on each side; the reverse plain, with its square magnetic backing plate missing; horizontal pinback with a barrel hinge and a flat wire catch on the reverse; measuring 96.53 mm x 25.74 mm; weighing 28.1 grams; with hairline cracks on all four sides of the square; with approximately 95% of its original bronze finish remaining; in overall extremely fine condition.
