Germany, Wehrmacht. A Close Combat Clasp, Bronze Grade, by C.E. Juncker
(Nahkampfspange in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a central square oak leaf wreath, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, overlaid by a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, with a magnetic metal backplate, flanked on each side by sun rays and four oak leaves with acorns, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, designer marked “PEEKHAUS, BERLIN” and maker marked with the logo of Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid, measuring 96.25 mm (w) x 25.60 mm (h), weighing 30.3 grams, most of some loss of finish evident throughout, in overall near extremely fine condition.
