Germany, Wehrmacht. A Close Combat Clasp, Bronze Grade, by Josef Feix & Söhne
(Nahkampfspange in Bronze). Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a central square oak leaf wreath, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, flanked on each side by three oak leaves and sun rays with acorns, the centrepiece retaining a magnetic metal backplate, the reverse with a barrel hinge, maker marked with the logo of Josef Feix & Söhne, Gablonz, measuring 97.85 mm (w) x 26.71 mm (h), weighing 27.8 grams, the pinback and catch are missing and loss of finish is evident throughout, in overall poor condition.
