Germany, Third Reich. A Sudetenland Medal with Case
(Sudetenland-Medaille mit Etui). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse with two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a central date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 31.98 mm in diameter, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of card stock with a faux red leather exterior the obverse lid with a gold embossed NSDAP-style German national eagle, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner and slotted maroon felt medal bed, opening with a functional magnetic metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional magnetic metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 48 mm (w) x 102 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
