Germany, Third Reich. A Sudetenland Medal with Case
(Sudetenland-Medaille mit Etui). Constructed of gilded silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse with two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a central date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.32 mm in diameter, weighing 15.0 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux maroon leather exterior, the lid with a gold embossed NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a white satin lid liner and a slotted maroon velvet medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 48 mm (w) x 102 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
