Germany, Heer. A Marksmanship Lanyard, Grade VII, Type I
(Heer Schützenschnur). Instituted June 1938. A Heer Marksmanship Lanyard, Grade VII, Type I, consisting of an aluminum insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the centre bears two cut-out upwards facing crossed swords superimposed over a shield, affixed to a lanyard constructed of interwoven silver aluminum wire cords, with three slides constructed of wood covered in thin silver-grey cords in a zigzag pattern, ending in two acorns, the reverse is backed with field grey wool behind the aluminum badge and cream coloured fabric down the lanyard, measuring 450 mm (l), very fine.
