Germany, Wehrmacht. A Lot of Service Medals
(Wehrmacht Medaillen). A lot of four Wehrmacht service medals, including a Wehrmacht 4-Year Long Service Medal with Heer/Kriegsmarine Device, constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with a parade mount and horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “TREUE DIENSTE IN DER WEHRMACHT” (“FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE WEHRMACHT”), the reverse bearing a raised central number “4” within a circular oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 30.14 mm in diameter, weighing 24.0 (inclusive of ribbon and mounting); a War Merit Cross, II Class with Swords, constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed date of “1939”, unmarked, measuring 47.90 mm (w) x 49.70 mm (h), weighing 21.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), with some loss of finish evident, in overall better than very fine condition; an Anschluss Medal, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised central date of “13. MÄRZ 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.40 mm in diameter, weighing 16.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in very fine condition, and; an Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse bearing central wreathed date of “1914-1918” within a laurel wreath, with crossed swords through the centrepiece, the reverse maker marked “G3” for an unidentified maker, measuring 37.53 mm (w) x 42.36 mm (h), weighing 14.6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
